A Hug For

All of my art is about something. Or at least it is now. Often, they are just excuses to make more art -- that's all I want to do, but they mean something, too. That's true for this painting, but I've little desire to explain it all. It's not my story, and there's too much to say. There's also always a risk of saying something stupid -- this is amazing. You can't say something great if you don't take the risk to sometimes say something foolish. I guess to end this off, I'd like to say that there's this awkward feeling when someone is devastated by something genuinely horrible. The impulsive "it'll be okay" will only annoy them, and there's not much you can do to improve the situation. So you offer a hug -- or, in this case, a painting of a hug, as if THAT will do anything. But I guess sometimes it does.
