So this is the sequel, I guess, to another painting about a lady who was very far from home. Since that work, the now slipper-less girl had to go 'home,' realized it wasn't as such, and has started the process of coming back. Home is where you are (and want to be, or something). And I want her here, so she's almost home -- or at least I hope so. Throughout my upbringing, I thought I was special. I had difficulty understanding my needs, especially compared to my peers. For instance, my minimal social needs. It turns out there's little special about me. I'm just autistic. Which was, in all ways, a rather anti-climactic outcome. But I've got a lot of need and space for her, and even so far away, she's closer to me than anyone else. -- It's hard to be close when you're so far away.
